Description
Happy Day is a great catchy melody with percussion accompaniment that younger or older students can enjoy! There are a few technical challenges, but for the most part this work can be navigated by the late beginner and intermediate player.
Right away, notice the spoken word portion of the work. (the score requests players to talk randomly while playing) Don’t panic! We can use a recording or a group of people to supply these sounds if the players can’t do it. If the players ARE ready, then definitely have them do it and it makes the work a higher intermediate work. Having to speak random syllables while playing a rhythmic part may even be advanced!
After playing this work, you will have the song stuck in your head. You also might have some cool new rhythms to use! In a piece that has a sense of pop music mixed with experimental sound making techniques, I hope you find this is a progressive addition to your collection. Enjoy playing it!
