Playful Reflections – for solo vibraphone

Description

This work is playful and reflective.  Just kidding, even thought it truly is both of those qualities, it will move your mallets around and get you to learn a few Neumeyerisms that I use.  These are just fast sixteenth note permutations during the more technical parts of the work.  Be prepared to learn a few quirky rhythms, chords with extensions and clusters or seconds.  The rest is nice and relaxing and might work for your recital or for some background music!

A cool story behind this one is that a player who commented on the YouTube video inspired me to write it out.    It took a while because of some of the challenging permutations I used in the piece, but I am glad I did it.  These kind of comments mean so much to any composer or artist and it really keeps us going!    Thank you Francisco Marino for your support and inspiration!
