Description

Choral is directly inspired by singing hymnals in church.  Singing these works and experiencing the difference types of harmonic cadences inspires a certain sound and musical vocabulary to come out.  Once I analyzed this comprovisation, I immediately knew it was a musically emotional and technically approachable work that could be used as a somber recital encore selection.

Choral is from a collection of five solos called “Comprovisations: A Songbook for Marimba” – which represents selections that I wrote out from an album of the same title.  Be sure to check out the collection before “checking out” of the store! 🙂
