I haven’t written a blog in a really long time so I thought why don’t I write about blogs!! 🙂
Kevin Lynch
Not as much blogs, but more so journalists, writers, music appreciators; just the different really awesome people that have given me press in the last year or two. It is very flattering and inspiring when people intently listen to my music and describe it, for example I’ve had numerous songs and albums written up by Kevin Lynch!
Kevin has his own blog and also writes for periodicals in the Milwaukee area. I really enjoyed reading his writings when they are about my work and when they aren’t. I had the pleasure of reading Kevin’s writings about my vibraphone album Cloud Nine, (here is the one from his blog) my close to the heart singles How I Wish You Were Here and Life. Then, I got him hooked on a few of my Beatles tunes recently! Norwegian Wood
Please check out Kevin‘s blog here at https://kevernacular.com/, and if you’re into any of these tunes you can check out his specific write ups on me.
Breaking & Entering
Another one that I think of right away is Breaking and Entering. This great organization that is covering emerging artists in Milwaukee.
Allen Halas has written about many of my color themed YouTube videos, some of which I released the track. His writings and interpretations of the music it’s really fun to read and only inspires more creativity from me! e.g. Three Vibes. I always have a good time watching Allen record the Breaking & Entering podcast on social media. Be sure to check out all of the behind the scenes!
Mr. Nice Guy and Wisconsin Music Ventures
That is a little bit of a segue to go into work Ben Slowey has written about my music. Not only did he creatively capture my color tracks in words, he also wrote up my marimba album from 2020, Marimba Maverick! While writing for Breaking and Entering on some of the color inspired music, I’m really proud to say that he included me on the write up for Wisconsin music Ventures as spotlight of the week! Check that out here, and definitely check out Ben’s activity around Milwaukee and further… He seems like a really nice guy 😉
Well that is the most recent thing that happened, I really want to thank people such as May Chen who’s online gig got my friend Heinzel and I into a Taiwanese newspaper and also Sarah MacCraw who wrote about me in her online magazine Desperate Housegeek in 2020. You can read about that in my previous blog entry.
There might be more out there, if I didn’t catch it please send it to me and I can include it in another blog of blog!! 🙂
I hope everyone has a great day and I’ll see you around!
